Mushrooms | Open House 2/11 & Deer Valentines

Dear Mushrooms,

We had some great finds last week, three deer beds were found under the Weeping Hemlock.  From here, we think the deer have a great view of everything that’s happening in the Pinetum.  We found where they were sleeping, plenty of tracks, and some scat.  This was a really cool parent find – hooray for our winter explorers, both big and small!

These three dear deer that have been with us since Spring even made a graceful appearance.  What a delight!  Tomorrow for mushrooms, since it is school break, siblings are invited and we’ll extend nature play until noon.  We’ll have a table set up in our cozy classroom, with supplies for making special valentines, classroom chores to do.

Dear, deer. We have been following your tracks in the snow!

  1. Hi Everone, Just a reminder that the Mushrooms classroom at the GEC will not be open this week. I will be away with family, but will send an idea to you later this week. Of course, you are always welcome to bundle up and ramble around the Pinetum together with friends. I can’t wait to hear about your adventures if you do!
    Warm Regards, Ms D.
