Changes in the GEC Classroom

What a beautiful morning dodging raindrops in the Pinetum with our Mushooms while collecting nesting materials.  Here are the biggest changes we noticed today in the classroom and outside:

In the classroom:  Something NEW and something missing

Did you see our bird house? We collected all kinds of soft materials from outside to put in our bird house. It’s as big as it looks! Even Ms. D can fit in there 🙂

Did everyone spot the bird house inside? We’ll be painting one next week to put outside.
Last week we looked at circles and nests, and this week we got to see Mama Robin sitting in her circle on a circle, outside the entrance door.

Did you notice, Something really big is missing: Our classroom lemon trees are gone! Frank and Angel moved them out to the garden, but don’t worry, we can visit them.
P1050270
We brought some new plants inside. These were featured on the May Market table, and we can easily find them in patches near the classroom and on school grounds explorations. Have you seen them? Do you know what they are?

Some new little sunflower sprouts are growing inside. We’re spraying them and watching them. What will they look like next week?

Something is happening in our vermicompost bin. Remember when we had wrinkly old potatoes left over from our winter potato stamps and we gave them to the worms? Look!!

Some new books in our collection today. Even an Ostrich needs a nest has so many inspiring nest illustrations, we love it!

Thanks so much to Ms. Liz for her nest ideas and for hiding treasures outside for us, and thanks to our mushrooms for exploring and supporting the GEC.  It was wonderful to have you all along!
